The African Giant, Burna Boy, has dropped the official music video for “Rollercoaster,” one of the highly anticipated tracks from his sixth studio album, ‘Love, Damini.’ The song, which features Colombian singer J Balvin, has received rave reviews since its release and has become a fan-favorite, racking up massive streams on various platforms.
Directed by Loris Russier, the video was shot at the Los Angeles Fayette theatre in New Jersey and sees Burna Boy and J Balvin as the central characters, living out their superstar lives in a cinema. The visuals perfectly capture the heart of the tune and its lifestyle contradictions, with Burna Boy weaving his voice in, over and under the beats, complementing J. Balvin’s unique runs.
“Rollercoaster” is the seventh music video released from the Love, Damini album, following the successes of “Kilometre,” “Last Last,” “For You Hand” featuring Ed Sheeran, “Vanila,” “Whiskey,” and “Common Person.” Burna Boy’s “Last Last” has recently been RIAA certified Platinum, making it the fastest Afrobeat song to be certified gold and platinum in the US. The track has also been nominated for Best Global Music Performance at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.
Burna Boy continues to make waves in the music industry, with his electrifying performance of “Last Last” at the 2023 NBA All-Star Game halftime show. The artist is also set to perform at the 2023 UEFA Champions League final in Istanbul, further cementing his status as one of the leading Afrobeats artists globally.
