Nigerian sensation Rema is making headlines once again on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, reaching an impressive new peak. As of Chart Week March 11, 2023, Rema’s hit track ‘Calm Down’ has climbed an impressive 4 spots to reach the No.
Afrobeats have been growing in popularity, especially on the international scene. In August 2022, popular Nigerian musician Rema and American songstress Selena Gomez collaborated on a remix of Rema’s hit song “Calm Down”. The video for the song was released later in September and has already acquired over two hundred and eighteen million views.
The song was originally released in February of the same year as a single from Rema’s debut studio album, Rave and Roses. The sixteen-track album featured songs like Soundgasm, Hold Me, and Mara, amongst many others.

The single has also surpassed a billion streams across all platforms while becoming the most-watched Nigerian music video on YouTube. Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ continues to dominate the US Billboard Afrobeats chart as it extends its record as the longest NO.1 to 27 weeks.
